‘Devotion’ is salo’s second piece of collaboration and Archangels Thunderbird's debut in an upcoming wave of collaborative releases they have planned. The song and video was a musical/visual labor of collaborative love, spirited from the embers of solidarity, creative vulnerability and friendship. And copious amounts of fake blood.

Filmed along the oddly mystic feeling and desolate shorelines of the salton sea in the Southern California desert, the video was shot run and gun fashion in the span of one very unreal night. Nestor Valenzuela, an incredibly talented videographer and friend of both projects, assembled a very talented little crew to help actualize and bring to life our little slice of abolitionist horror/erotica. His contribution was absolutely essential for this taking form. He is forever the sweetest of real deal angels.

The video unravels and upends the tables on the worst of apex predators, narratively we feel it speaks for itself. ACAB.

Lyrically, ‘Devotion’ , addresses the supplicant aggrandizement involved in upholding the hierarchies of gatekeeper culture while poking at the disparities of power that exist within the mentality of that toxic exceptionalism. It’s about killing the cop in yr head…an invitation to be as fucking weird and liberated as you truly authentically are without shame.
